Description: This 60 Hour NREMT Paramedic Refresher course for the Paramedic is Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved and designated as (F5 Refresher Training).
This course follows National Standard Curriculum for Paramedic Refresher. Students who successfully pass the course, will be presented with a certificate outlining the applicable topic areas. The course refreshes the paramedic with an understanding of providing prehospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Areas of study include an introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of paramedics, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, special considerations for working in the prehospital setting, and providing patient transportation.
Students registering for this course certify that they meet the following technical requirements.

This 24 Hour (3-Day), NREMT compliant, Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) accredited course follows the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Standard Curriculum for Emergency Medical Technician Refresher. Students are trained according to the standards outlined above. Students who successfully pass the course, will be issued certification identifying the number of hours obtained for training for the use of re-registration as an EMT under the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as well as EMT recertification through continuing education hours for the State of Arizona.
The Emergency Medical Dispatching Course is a 32 hour comprehensive training program that prepares individuals to effectively respond to emergency calls and dispatch appropriate medical assistance. Following the guidelines set by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), this course covers essential topics in emergency dispatch protocols, call assessment, communication techniques, technology integration, legal and ethical considerations, and practical exercises.
Participants will learn how to assess emergency calls, prioritize responses, and utilize standardized dispatch protocols. Effective communication skills, including active listening, clear instructions, and effective questioning techniques, will be emphasized to ensure accurate information gathering and provision of pre-arrival instructions. Hands-on experience with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, mapping software, and radio communication equipment will be provided.
The course also addresses legal and ethical responsibilities in emergency dispatching, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and stress management. Practical exercises and simulations will allow participants to apply their knowledge and enhance decision-making skills. This 24 Hour (3-Day), NREMT and Texas Department of State Health Services, EMS-Trauma Systems compliant, Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) approved course follows National Standard Curriculum for the Emergency Medical Technician Refresher. Students who successfully pass the course, will be issued certification identifying the number of hours obtained for training for the use of re-registration as an EMT under the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians. The course is good for 24 CE hours towards TDSHS EMSTS recertification.
Description: This 40 Hour, NREMT Refresher class is completed through the use of Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) and meets National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) National Continued Competency Program (NCCP) guidelines to recertify as an EMT.
